Installation

During construction works to the Bankwest Stadium in Parramatta, Sydney. The Eels Rugby League Football Club decided on upgrading the Members’ clubhouse including Sydney Street Art. Major upgrades including a brand new 7 lane ten pin bowling alley and Arcade arena aimed to bring new business and likewise, a younger generation of fans.

Interior design by Design Code Interiors and Street Art Studios selected for this Sydney Street Art installation. The Construction was contracted to Adco Constructions Pty Ltd. The work could only begin after the artists provided all necessary job specific documents as listed below.

After the team had been site inducted, they began working on the 120m2 ceiling art. Working to the Interior Design plan, the team had to adapt to make the plan a reality. Finding ways to paint in, around and under obstacles like pipes, aircon vents and Fire tubes became second nature.

To clarify our team only use quality materials from MTN Australia, and Dulux. As a result these products provide the highest quality finishes and are always highly recommended. As a result, project completion took 14 days for the team to paint Kick’s Arcade arena’s ceiling.

Kicks tenpin opened with a successful July 2018 launch. Certainly providing their members an exciting draw card to their new upgraded Leagues Club.

Completed Street Art Mural for LORDS

LORDS (Lutheran Ormeau River Districts School)

Brisbane school mural artist team streetartstudios.com.au was contacted by the Pimpama based school with hopes of having their manual arts building painted in a street art style. A meeting onsite was arranged to discuss budgets, size and timeframe. We wanted to create a mural that would reflect the neighbouring pockets of bushland.

We quoted the school with a provided timeframe of 10-14 days for installation, including 30 hours dedicated to conceptual design.

LORDS CONCEPTUAL DESIGN — Final Draft Design

Within four days we supplied a design which met their expectations. The team set about preparing a corrugated sheet metal surface for the mural installation. First we applied two coats of sealer/primer/stain-blocker undercoat to give the artwork an excellent base for installation. Using only quality professional artistic spray paints and Dulux paints ensures a professional finish. In addition, we also applied a clearcoat sealer to defend against the sun’s harmful UV rays and fading. This results in an additional seven to ten years of UV protection.

This mural package took ten days to transform a blank shed wall into artwork, inclusive of conceptual designs, consultation, travel and man hours for installation, resulting in transformation of an old, bland, and unattractive area. This is now a vibrant and beautiful representation of the school’s core beliefs and values. Canterbury Primary School Prep Aged Workshops and Mural

When the art department from Canterbury State Primary School contacted Sheeps from Street Art Studios they were looking to update some of their school murals. They wanted to begin Street Art Workshops for students from Prep and Grades one to three. Though the school was unsure whether they could be run safely for younger students, Sheeps was able to take the knowledge he has gained over the past five years of mural installation and workshop facilitation and put together a feasible and affordable plan to help this school and its students rejuvenate the school’s dated artwork, involving students in a fun, creative, and educational experience.

With a quick introduction to the students, teaching staff and faculty, Sheeps set about taking the Students drawings they presented to him, and to create a quick design that was an embodiment of all the best ideas from their imaginations. He then showed and explained Spray paint and the proper and safe ways to use the Low Odour, Low VOC, water based Spray Paints which were developed and sized for use by children.

With their smocks, wide smiles and eagerness to paint, the kids all took their turns to add colour to the sandpit mural and created one of the funnest and age appropriate murals to date. The kids were thrilled when they had the opportunity to show off their handiwork to their parents, as were their parents at seeing what their children could accomplish when showed the correct way to enjoy spray paint in a safe, controlled environment.

Approximately four hours north-west of Brisbane, in the heart of citrus country, lies the beautiful country town of Gayndah. The School Mural Artist at Street Art Studios was lucky enough to visit the town, after being contacted by the Acting Principal of the local primary school, Mr. Andrew Goldie, wondering if we could provide the pupils and school community with a street art mural and some workshops with students in design and installation.

Street Art Studios (blue card holders) knew exactly how to make a lasting positive impact, by teaching the kids about proper use of spray paint, and to contribute a mural that would remain for years to come.

Street Art Studios were contacted by Citykids Childcare in South Melbourne, for Mural Artist to Hire to turn their unique marketing image. Drawn by one of the children in their care, the black and white image was to now to become coloured. This was an artistic decision made by lead artist Sheeps and made the design more playful, fun and friendly.

The client was provided with several conceptual designs by Sheeps. Street Art Studios and their client then decided on which image to paint to the premises’ towering twin 14m columns facade.

The columns were initially painted an undercoat of fresh clean white. This allowed the colourful, bright and happy artwork to stand out proudly against the neighbouring businesses. The decision was also made to paint the surrounding garden beds, entry walkway and letterbox. This made sure the entire business front received the same crisp, fresh white paint giving a much more complete look to the entire building.

Street Art Studios were contacted by Powerlink Queensland’s, who were curious to find out what could be done to add some colour to their large offices, while also promoting the importance of Safe work practices.

As per Street Art Studios’ standard practice, a meeting was held at their HQ to discuss the best plan of attack.

Potential walls and areas for the mural were shown, ideas were bounced around and budgets were discussed. After getting a better idea of the work involved, the client’s were happy to award the project to Sheeps, from Street Art Studios.

When Sash from Paddington Barber Co. contacted Sheeps with an idea in his head, he wanted to know if there was a way to get the ideas from his head and painted onto the walls of his newly opened Barber Shop. With the idea being slightly odd, Sheeps was intrigued.

A meeting was held instore, to allow Sheeps an opportunity to view the stores layout and work out the best way to install. As with all start up companies, the budget was small, so they bartered an alternative arrangement where Sheeps would get free haircuts in lieu of payment of the full price.

With everything agreed upon, Sheeps began designing the Octopus Barber. After a few tweaks and a redesign, Sash and Sheeps chose a suitable week to get the artwork installed.

Stretching wall to wall, up and over an alcove, and back onto the ceiling, this eight-legged legend of the lochs now happily changes the hairstyles of many the gentleman who frequents this great barber shop.

PADDINGTON PUPS DOG DAYCARE MURAL

When repeat client Bree, owner of Paddington Pups Dog Day Care Centre called, she wanted to continue the theme of “the great outdoors” dog play area, which we painted back in 2015.

The brief was for the theme to continue, but the artwork to evolve. The area was completely visible to all their customers, so it needed to look the best it could. It also had to incorporate some existing artificial foliage, which added a nice touch to the artwork’s image.

With a lot less wall space to cover and the area being a lot smaller than the dogs general play area, the artwork needed to be planned out properly, with every inch of space to be utilised.

After a few sketched ideas and a week of late nights, the store was proudly sporting a newly decorated puppy-pick-up and reception area, to impress customers and keep the humans who work there from getting cabin fever.

All artwork was installed after hours to ensure the installation wouldn’t hamper the business’ trading hours, and all care was taken to ensure the areas’s were safe for the next day.
